Teaching isn’t what it used to be.

After 26 years in education, I’ve seen the highs and the lows. I spent 14 years in 4th grade, most of them so much fun and truly rewarding. I later transitioned into a role as a Teacher Resource Specialist for Technology Integration, where I spent another 12 years supporting educators. Again, so many moments were fulfilling.  But education has changed, there is no doubt about it.  The rewards are still there, but for some, they are muted by the stress and workload.

As a coach, I now have a different perspective. I see what teachers are facing every day: the mounting stress, the loss of autonomy, the overwhelming demands, and the deep feeling of being undervalued. I’ve witnessed the tears, and I’ve shed a few of my own.
